When Life No Longer Feels Like Yours
This space grew from paying attention to what was no longer working in everyday life.
Many people arrive here when they’ve been keeping things going for a long time — but it no longer feels possible in the same way.
You might still be doing what needs doing —
but it feels different to how it used to.
When day-to-day life starts to feel harder than it should, that isn’t failure — it’s information.
Conscious Detox Living™ began when keeping things going in the usual way was no longer working.
Not as a business plan.
As a turning point.
What started as paying attention to what drained us,
what helped, and what didn’t,
slowly became a different way of doing our days.
Not all at once — but in ways that changed everything.

When Life Looks Fine
But It Doesn't Feel Fine
From the outside, life made sense on paper.
A thriving business.
A beautiful home.
A life that may have appeared settled and complete.
Inside, my body was running on autopilot —
doing what it had learned to keep things going.
Lockdown brought an unexpected pause.
And in that stillness, something became impossible to ignore:
This isn’t who you are.
This isn’t how life has to be.
I didn’t know what came next.
I only knew that continuing in the same way wasn’t an option.
I could see more clearly what wasn’t working.
But seeing it didn’t immediately make life any easier.

Seeing More Clearly
But Still Not Able To Do Much With It Yet
There was a point where I understood more of what was happening.
I could put words to what we had been living.
I had more awareness than I’d ever had.
I felt calmer in some ways.
But things didn’t feel any easier to live with.
Things started to feel heavier.
Because now I could see what was happening —
but I couldn’t yet do much differently with what I could see.
In the moments that mattered most, things would still play out in the same way.
Even when I knew what I would have preferred to do instead.
There was more self-blame.
More frustration.
More questioning — of myself, and of others.
Not because awareness was wrong.
But because awareness on its own didn’t change what I was able to do in those moments.
I wasn’t lacking information.
What was missing was a way to make sense of what I was seeing in a way I could actually use in real life.
It’s so easy to keep trying to make things work because they seem like they should.
Because they sound sensible.
Because they fit the picture we’ve been given of how life is supposed to look.
But something being how it “should” be
isn’t always the same as what it asks of you to live inside it each day.
Noticing what’s actually happening,
instead of just how something is meant to be,
is often where things begin to change.
That’s where Conscious Detox Living began.
Not as another way to improve yourself.
But as a way to understand what’s really happening —
so you’re not left turning it against yourself — or onto other people —
or waiting for something or someone else to make it all better.
What came next wasn’t a clear plan.
It was a series of small, practical changes —
made in response to what we were noticing day to day.

What This Really Looked Like
What Changed in Everyday Life
Over time, the changes we made were deliberate and practical —
made in response to what we were noticing day to day.
As I learned more about the nervous system — and about what was shaping our day-to-day life —
I started to see that the moments we struggled most weren’t a character flaw.
They were a sign the pace, pressure, or expectations weren’t supporting what worked well for us day to day.
We could feel that in the strain it was creating, and in how much harder everyday life was starting to feel.
Not because anything was wrong with us —
but because our bodies were responding to the way we were living.
Including the unspoken rules about how life “should” be done.
That understanding shaped many of our decisions —
including our choice to educate our daughter differently.
Out of respect, that part of our story isn’t fully mine to tell —
but it changed everything.
From there, we began reshaping how our days were structured,
how everything fit together,
and what we were no longer willing to keep putting last.
These decisions were made deliberately, over time, with our family’s wellbeing in mind — considering each of us as individuals, not just as a unit.

The Life We are Choosing Now
What We’re No Longer Willing To Just Push Through
We make decisions based on what works in our actual day-to-day —
not just what we can get through.
This isn’t about avoiding hard things.
It’s about not adding extra strain where it doesn’t need to be —
while still showing up for what matters.
Pushing through has helped a lot of people get through difficult periods.
This isn’t about removing that — it’s about noticing when it stops working in the same way.
That doesn’t mean having everything figured out all at once.
It means noticing what helps, what doesn’t, and what keeps making day-to-day life harder than it needs to be.
There isn’t a single blueprint for this.
When no one has shown you another way, it can take time for a different way to become clear.
There isn’t one answer that works for everyone.
But we are clearer now about what we’re no longer willing to keep ignoring.
Conscious Detox Living™ grew from these choices —
and from what they taught us.
This space exists for people who want life to feel less draining…
even if they don’t yet know how.

If This Feels Unrealistic
I Understand
After years of doing and keeping everything together,
questioning how things are being done can feel impossible — even irresponsible.
That reaction makes sense.
But it doesn’t always mean the way things are needs to stay the same.
Many of us learned to keep going
because it was what we knew how to do at the time —
not because it was truly supporting us.
Burnout, disconnection, and exhaustion aren’t signs you’ve failed.
They’re signals that the pace, pressure, or expectations
aren’t supporting life as it’s being lived.
Change doesn’t arrive all at once.
It often begins with noticing what’s actually happening —
and what small changes might be needed when possible.
This way of seeing things won’t make sense to everyone.
It doesn’t need to.
It’s here for those who recognise themselves in it.

What I Know Now
These aren’t rules.
They’re things I’ve come to see over time.
→ You don’t need more pressure. Life may already be asking a lot of you.
→ The way you respond often makes more sense when you look at what’s been shaping your day-to-day life.
→ Feeling deeply doesn’t mean something is wrong. It can be a sign that something needs attention.
→ Pushing through isn’t always the answer. Sometimes it’s what keeps the strain going.
→ Things can start to shift when you stop overriding what’s actually going on.
These understandings shape everything here.
This Isn’t Just a Wellness Space
It’s About Making Life Workable
This space isn’t here to ask more of you
or give you one more thing to try.
It’s here to help you see what’s actually been happening more clearly —
in how you respond, and the life you’re trying to live.
We’re not all built the same.
What helps one person won’t always help another.
This space exists to help you see the bigger picture more clearly —
so you’re not left stuck in blame, pressure, or trying to force things that don’t actually work for you.
